Treetop Adventure
If you’ve always dreamed of riding a zip line or climbing a tree, the Treetop Adventure at Bronx Zoo NY is the place for you! Treetop Adventures let you experience the thrill of being in the trees, with a range of zip lines and ropes courses of varying difficulty. Treetop Adventures also offers tree top tours over the Bronx River! Here, you can climb a tree, fly through the air, and explore the different ecosystems of the Bronx Zoo.
The Treetop Adventure at Bronx Zoo NY is an exciting activity that includes admission to the zoo, two way flights on ziplines over the Bronx River, and an amazing 360-degree view of New York City. To participate in Treetop Adventure, participants must be at least seven years old, weigh fifty to 275 pounds, and be at least five feet six inches tall from floor level. You can choose to participate in just one attraction, or you can get a combo ticket. This is worth checking out!
Gorillas
Recently, the gorillas at the Bronx Zoo were caught on video performing oral sex. The video has gone viral, but you should be warned – the content is NSFW. The video was taken by an anonymous person while visiting the Bronx Zoo with his family. HuffPost reached out to the Bronx Zoo to find out what happened. In the meantime, the video has been viewed millions of times.
There are four adult female gorillas at the Bronx Zoo, and two of them are currently nursing their babies. The babies then fall asleep when the nursing is complete. Ernie was born in Oklahoma City and previously lived in Colorado Springs and Knoxville, Tenn. In May 2010, he was shipped to the Bronx Zoo via FedEx overnight express. While the Bronx Zoo has a gorilla exhibit, it is not the best place for young children to visit.
Happy the gorilla
In a recent court filing, the Nonhuman Rights Project (NHRP) has argued that Happy the gorilla at the Bronx Zoo NY should be granted writ of habeas corpus. Happy was born in the wild in Asia in the early 1970s, and was captured as a 1-year-old. His arrival at the Bronx Zoo was accompanied by his gorilla companion, Grumpy. The pair had an unfortunate encounter in 2002, and Grumpy later died.
While gorillas in the wild are primarily vegetarian, they do eat a variety of foods including leaves, fruits, bark, stems, and bamboo shoots. Gorillas in zoos usually eat prepared bisquits and vegetables. However, the Bronx Zoo’s gorillas have a diet that differs from that of their wild counterparts.
