Rope access was our choice in this scenario. Ropes allowed us to clean all windows within six hours. Here is the equipment used for rope access
- Harness — which includes sitting, chest, and full-body harness;
- Ascenders and descenders are mechanical devices that allow technicians to ascend and descend on a rope;
- Back-up safety device — this attaches to a second rope (the safety rope) and is meant to stop any fall if a failure occurs;
- A safety hat is meant to protect the window cleaning operative’s head from injury, particularly from objects falling from above or colliding with other obstacles.
